The Villa Panamericana de Guadalajara hosted more than 1500 disabled athletes participating in the rooms Continental Games. Among the 26 countries taking part in the event is Cuba, whose delegation witnessed the ceremony of hoisting the national flag.

Nick van der Kaaij, mayor of the facility, assured delegations of Cuba and Uruguay gathered there, which is an honor to extend a warm welcome to the continental competition.

"You are an example for youth and social values ??are big; these Games will be a great boost for all of America to raise awareness about inclusion in the sport of disabled people," the mayor said while urging athletes to represent worthily their nations.

Osvaldo Vento, head of the Cuban delegation and vice president of the National Institute of Sport and Recreation, recognized the efforts of the organizing committee to create excellent conditions with a view to the event.
