Vitali Klitschko and Odlanier Solis at their weigh-in Klitschko is not taken Solis lightly. Cuba's former Olympic champion Odlanier Solis challenges WBC heavyweight title-holder Vitali Klitschko on Saturday.Solis weighed in on Friday in Cologne at 112kg (246.9lbs), while Ukrainian Klitschko was 113.2kg (249.5lbs).

The Cuban, 30, has a 17-0 pro record, with 12 KOs, but gives away 15cm (6ins) in height to his 39-year-old opponent.

He has also struggled with weight issues in the past, but Klitschko (41-2, 38 KOs) said: "Solis is one of the strongest opponents in my career."

Solis, a gold medallist at the 2004 Athens Games and a three-time amateur world champion, defected from Cuba in 2006.

His trainer, Pedro Luis Diaz, said: "Our preparation has been designed down to the smallest detail. Vitali does not know what kind of trouble he is in for. Odlanier is in the prime of his career.

"We've reviewed Vitali's opponents over the years and saw that none of them have the quality of Solis - not in speed nor movement, nor the boxing IQ. On Saturday, there will be a surprise."

Solis said: "I'll win in the 12th, maybe earlier. I'll win in any case."

Klitschko's only previous fight against an Olympic champion was his defeat by Britain's Lennox Lewis in 2003.

But the champion was unfazed by Solis' confidence, saying: "I can fight 12 rounds at a high tempo but the fight won't last 12 rounds.

"There are good amateurs from Cuba but it's different in the professional game."

Klitschko's younger brother Wladimir, the IBF and WBO champion, fights WBA belt-holder David Haye of Britain in June or July.
